Up very early (for me) on our second morning, the 11th May 2016, I captured the sunrise as we headed for Zadar in Croatia.

If I wasn’t taking these photos I wouldn’t believe the way the sky changed from moment to moment.

Susanne missed these amazing shots, partly because I couldn’t tear myself away to turn around and wake her.  Capturing the changes that took place on the water as well as the sky, I was constantly clicking and hoping for a few good results. No doubt Australian sunrise in the eastern states is equally beautiful, at least some days, but I’ve not been on a ship there. At first I wasn’t sure if what looked like a mountain range, in from the shoreline, was cloud or land, but as it remained there, I realised it must be landform. Six o’clock came and went and still I stood on our balcony, pointing my camera and hoping for the best. I’m thrilled with the results.
